I don't recomend taking off the oil cap when the engine is running. Oil will splash out from the rotating cam, all over everything! Pulling out the dipstick on a hot engine will show any light pressure.

Cleaning the PTC will usually solve the problem with turbo engines, if it is not the valve guides.
