Very interesting, because the turbo S/V40's here in europe don't have the pre-cat in the turbo downpipe (it's just a pipe 'elbow' here) and the O2 sensors are mounted right before and right after the cat.

The second O2 sensor is used to verify proper operation of the cat and a warning light is on the dash if the ECU detects that it's going bad.

Guess it's again some oddball difference between EU and US emission rules, which require such a change.
