I've never heard that exact complaint as written but apparently the noise isn't the blower motor as you say and it's been mis-diagnosed.

If they mis-diagnosed the problem (not you telling them what part to replace), then it's their "come-back" and they should diagnose the problem and refund you your money/part that obviously wasn't bad to begin with. That's what I'd do.

Otherwise, take the car to another shop (dealer or place that knows 850s) and get another opinion.
