Engine impersonating a Diesel V70-XC70 2001

Thanks, Klaus. I'll try that today after work. I pulled it off yesterday and it looked pretty clean. Is there any way to test the solenoid for proper function? I read 5 ohms on it and I thought about energizing it to see if it moved, but wasn't sure if it operates at a full 12V.

Also, I verified that the two cams are correctly aligned relative to each other. How can I be certain the crankshaft is right? When I changed the belt a couple of years ago, I marked everything as I found it and kept all 3 in the same relative positions. I don't recall there being a reference mark on the block for crank position, but as I said, it's been a couple of years.

Thanks again
