I am not a good one to comment on this one...have replaced the turbo, fuel pump, done an entire valve job (burned exhaust at 145K) and I have had trans trouble since 95K miles. The CD sucks, the park interlock solenoid has failed and the side rub strip trim half slipped off one day and kept the rear door from opening. Replacing dash lights is a two-hour job. The hood latch broke right after I got it. The '93 and '94 seem to be the worst Volvo's ever created for reliability.

When it is right, it goes like stink and looks pretty studly. I guess the only thing worse could be a Taurus (OK maybe a Saturn is worse too) Why not do the Smart Thing and get a Honda. My daughter has my 1989 Accord at college...300,000 miles and still going strong.
