Frank, I can't help directly but I think there may be some

more info required for those that can:

When it does not start does the engine crank over?

When it does not start is the car cold (sit overnight),

warm (recently driven), both?

Can you describe more the problem with the shifter locking?

(I'm wondering if the car "thinks" it is in gear and won't

allow the starter to work.)
