Someone else may answer before me, but I will look at my Volvo parts manual tonight.

Certainly, N/A vs. turbo is a big difference. I think there were a number of emissions-related differences over the years, which may make the manifold more likely to be year-specific.

Off the top of my head, I would think that the transition to OBD2 between '95 and '96 would have me looking for '96 or '97 manifolds.
