Speedometer stopped working V70-XC70 1998

This happened to me when the ABS module (Automatic Braking System) went out at about 118K miles. Continued use will bring failure of other dashboard things and possibly the turn signals but the odometer will not be affected. The ABS module is not difficult to replace but the replacement must be the right one often figured out using the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN )
