on the 03 v40 it is right above the passengers feet. I opened the black casing by lifting the clasp on the front w/a screwdriver, dropped the old filthy filter straight down, twisted it a bit to get it past the raking floorboard, and stuffed the replacement up and clicked the clasp in about 2 minutes.
