Help! - Advice needed for roof rack wind noise V70-XC70 2001

My dealer has just mounted a (Volvo) roof rack with the ski rack attachment on my 2001 XC and the wind noise is terrible. Any suggestions as to exact placement of the rails or any other methods of keeping the noise down.

Secondly, read other comments re remote problems. I've just had to have a new rear mirror/sensor console replaced as my remote thought that the 'lock' button was the 'panic' button - on both remotes! It wasn't simply a matter of reprograming the rmote and was really annoying on a one month-old car. Othe than that the car's great.
