You should have the upgraded ETM, yellow sticker, in the 2001. If you can verify that the ETM is at fault, I suggest looking at www.xemodex.com for better than OEM fix. A replacement ETM(OEM) must be done at a dealership because the software must then be upgraded to accept the new ETM - at considerable cost to you.

I don't know how to trouble shoot a throttle position sensor, if that is the problem.
