Re: Breaks S70 98

It looks like a common problem, but I haven't experienced it after putting 21,000 mi on my S70 GLT '98 (got it with 27,000 mi).

About a year ago I had to do an emergency braking at an intersection with 5 rather tall people on board (the smallest was 6'0" - me :), doing about 65 mph. The brakes worked awesome.

On another occasion, quite recently, I was following a Porsche Boxter in the left lane at about 60 mph, usual rush-hour traffic, when the guy in front of the Porsche decided to make a left turn across the double line. Porsches can stop on a dime, alright. I was really lucky I had reacted in time. Had about 1/2 car length room after stopping.

My setup is bone stock. I swear by Volvo OEM brakes. Despite the dust.

My care is very simple - never wash the car immediately after driving - let it cool down for at least 20 min. Long lines to the nearest brushless car wash seem to take care of that problem:):):).

Cheers,

Vadim.
