I have a 2003 V70 2.4T FWD with the automatic tranny. I purchased the car 2 months ago. My question is what would cause the engine / tranny to jolt very HARD when shifted into reverse?? The initial shift into Reverse after starting the engine in the morning is ok but back the car out, put it into drive then into reverse and it really bangs / jolts HARD. You'd think the engine & tranny were going to fall out. It does this the rest of the day till the next morning. At 1st I thought it was temp sensitive but now not so as it just idles out of the garage, put into drive then into reverse and it's BANG. The shop is clueless as to why it does this. It has almost 112K mile on the car. I just changed the tranny fluid with Mobil 3309. It seems to shift better now other than the reverse bang. The person I bought the car from had flushed the fluid about 10+K miles ago. The shop did a software upgrade for the tranny recently which helped for forward shifting / driving.
If anyone has any info, tips, clues as to why it does this I sure would appreciate hearing from you. The tranny mount down under had to be replaced as one of the rubber bushings was shot. I was able to find a good used one for a temporary fix till I can get a new one from ipd. Even though it is much better than what was in there this didn't seem to help any. Thank you very much
