torque front wheel bearing

Klaus, is it an okay idea to put anti-seize compound on the axle spindle before replacing the wheel bearing/hub assembly? I had a real hard time getting it off before and may be replacing cv joints in the future. Is it safe? I would assume it would be fine, as long as the 36mm nut is torqued to the right spec. Also, any need to use the metal tape Volvo refers too? Thanks
