I tried that with Bilsteins on my aging 220, the company laughed when I explained that I only had about 150K miles on them.

What is nice about the adjustable Koni's is just that. When they get 'soft', you can make them harder. I always kept them on the soft setting to make my wife happy. The front struts are so easy to adjust, you can tighten them down for a 'play' period and reset them when done.
