Danny,

The VOLIL adapter attaches to the cd changer socket on the back of the factory radio, you do not use the Volvo prewire. The adapter cable is about 18 feet long and you run that to the trunk. As Anthony previously posted, the adapter does not work on the 2001 models, so if you have a 2001 you will have to get a changer from Volvo, get an aftermarket head unit, or use an inferior RF cd changer adapter.
