You will NEVER get GM/Ford ice box cold. Those compressors do not cycle, they are on all of the time and mix warm air from the heater to get the desired temp.

My daughter has a Subaru and was complaining about getting too cold and having to turn the temp dials while driving. I went with her a couple of days ago and noticed she was running with the recirc closed. I flipped the recirc switch and now the auto climate control works great.
