Several people have mentioned replacing the throttle control unit to fix the surging RPM's between 30 and 50 mph. I would like to do this repair, but I am uncertain what part your are referring to. My haynes manual lists a throttle position sensor, which is a small sensor attached to the throttle shaft. This part is suppost to send a signal to the fuel and ignition system ECU's to control throttle opening.
I also have a listing for an idle air control valve which is a small electric motor that controls the idle speed when the throttle is closed. This larger silver part is cone shaped and located under the throttle housing several inches from the throttle shaft.
I would like to do this in the next few days. Any help?
Thanks,
JOHN F
