At 60K there are probably more wear items to service then scheduled
items. Brake pads need replacing about every 30K so pads may
need replacing. Front rotors are probably at minimum size by 60K
and will need replacing. You would also want to flush the brake
fluid (recommended every 30K but not listed as required). Maybe
the air filter (easy to service) and plugs (again, easy).
The accessory belt (aka fan belt) is scheduled to be replaced at
60K.
At 70K you do oil change and replace the timing belt. Timing belt
is best left to the pros and will run $230 to $300 (including
parts) depending on cost of labor in your area (I think the belt is
only about $75). Thermostats are failing around 70K and advice
passed around here is to replace them at 70K, too (but manual does
not list it). Might also be a good time to flush coolant.
Transmission fluid should be flushed (probably never has been)
first time you service the car. Volvo says you don't have to but
some dealers are doing this now to help prolong life of transmission.
Our 95 is at 52K and needs an alignment. That costs about $100
at a dealer (4-wheel computerized alignment) and I could see
a car needing it after 60K, or so.
