Trunk lid strut installation 850 1996

There is no 'clever' step. Once the end next to the rear seat is attached, you might grab the strut with one hand and brace the end on the trunk lid. Then try closing the lid about 2 inches. Keep firm pressure on the strut, lift the lid as far as possible and attach the ball.

I remember doing something like that many years ago.
