Thanks Klaus. I'm not really sure if I am "lucky" but my 98 C70 doesn't have hog clips, just some weird long plastic clip-job. My car is a later model so it seems to have more in common with the 99s than the 97s.

I ordered a new cable, plus the lever bezel (which I shattered) from Tasca.
Only wish I had some nice clean seat skins and new carpet to install.

I'd agree, removing the entire seat would make this a whole lot easier. Bit of a "commitment." Everytime I take the plunge, I start finding other problems.

19 was the high today, but tomorrow will be over 40. I expect that it'll be back to single digits in a few days.
