Before pulling it out, try soaking it with WD-40 (penitating oil) or electrical contact cleaner (if it's the type that doesn't harm plastic, test it somewhere else first) while moving the switch around, working its contacts. I've had good luck reviving many switch contacts by doing that (mirror, window and seat switches). Have paper towels handy to soak up the acesss.
