Hey all, here's an explanation of what's happening with my car, let's see if anyone can help: The ECM is not grounding the fuel pump relay to allow the pump to receive power. Alldata states that there is a fuel pump relay and a fuel pump control module but I cannot locate them so I cannot test them, however the pump (while functional) is not receiving power. When the problem started (was very sudden with no prior indication of failure) residual line pressure would allow the car to start momentarily but it would shut down again. Because it was trying to start the crank sensor is fine as the plugs were firing, and the cam sensor is fine as the injectors were firing. I suspected the crank sensor, it's fine. I then suspected the rfid receiver for the keyless entry system, it's fine. All battery terminals and major power distribution connections have been cleaned. The ECM is capable of normal operation when fuel is introduced, and there is no indication that the security system has locked out the car because the ignition system is still active. All supporting and linked systems have tested out fine. Beyond a problem with the ECM's programming (which was updated a year ago via Autologic) there is no reason why the fuel pump will not receive power but I am hoping there is a mechanical cure for this, so I am asking for help. Has anyone else experienced this problem or one like it? What did you do to fix the problem? Does anyone know exactly where the proposed fuel pump relay is located under the dash and where the fuel pump control module is located close to the tank?
