Engine Compatability? 850 1997

If a valve dropped or there is some other head problem, just replace the head.

If you spun a bearing due to low oil pressure, then you should get a new engine.

If you wish to get another 2.4L light turbo, 1997 is the easiest. The 2002 will not go with your 4 speed tranny and the vacuum lines are completely different, as is the VVT.

You could find another 2.4L block and put your head (refurbished) on it.
