Couple of years ago I hired a reputable indy guy to do some front end work. Figured I was getting too old and tired to handle the hassle. Wrong. Drove the car some forty miles. Left work that afternoon. First gear, all right. Second gear, hang on tight. Third gear, nothing. Found that the snap ring on one of the axles hadn't been seated right and it backed out of the spline. Truly sucked.
