Brake pad squeal? S70 1998

A buddy of mine just asked me if the mechanic turned the rotors. I said no.
I bought the car with 110k on the clock and it now has 130k. Not sure if the present rotors are the original ones or not. Is that even possible?

He also said that Volvo's chew up rotors and that you will usually only get 2 change over sof pads before you will have to replace the rotors again.
