Usually the cable itself is OK. But the cable ends (Crimp connections go sour)
and the various connections may require coming apart wire brushing and reassembly
with a conductive grease such as Never-seez. The cable ends can be resoldered
by a pro and or replaced. Go to a starter-Generator repair shop for a quote.
I haven't messed with an 850 battery cable set yet, but a 740 harness is $140
and you would be wise to forget Autozone.
There's ends at the starter solenoid, the alternator, the battery, and the car frame that all need to be happy.
