Excuse me, but the rack uses hydraulic fluid to push the steering arms from side to side. The arms have adjustments on them.

I suggest finding a local shop that only does alignments. Not a tire shop, but an honest-to-god alignment shop. You know, one that the indies bring cars because few shops can afford an alignment machine.

As for replacing a rack in a driveway, be prepared for a stationary car for a couple of days. It is a heck of a job!
