Thanks.
I'll get a chance to search for the dipstick when my wife gets home tonight. They hid it well didn't thy?
I've read that Mobil 3309 is the same as JWS3309 and there is a source for it.

I've done the trans fluid both ways. On a 1985 SIII Jag the only way was to loosen the hose and let it flow into a bucket.
On my 1990 XJ6 there was a drain plug and I dumped some, refilled and went through the same routine once a week for the next two or three weeks. At 197,000 miles the fluid in that car was nice and pink / red.
I've been reading that these cars have trans issues and if you keep clean fluid in the car, you can beat the problem.
I'm not a believer in the theory of let the dirty stuff in there because the clutch material that is in the fluid helps the trans. To me that doesn't make any sense and is a bit of urban myth.
