Unlike engine oil that gets contaminated with blow-by from the cylinders and cold air sucked in through the exhaust after shutdown, the tranny is quite well sealed. If you do a lot of city driving, then I suggest 50K intervals for the tranny, at most.

Dab some ATF on a white paper towel from the dipstick now to get an idea what clean ATF looks like. It is still clean.
