You are probably getting miss fire codes for the bad coil.

The last time I had a bad coil in the 960, I check the resistance with a voltmeter and found the bad coil. It show open or no resistance!!!

If you have a code reader, if you get a miss fire for cylinder 1, moved the coil to another cylinder and see if the code moves with new location
