I own a 1998 S70 GLT. The sunroof shade began to rattle after 10k miles. Not potholes though. There are two plastic spring action guides (one on the left and the other on the right) that keep the sunroof shade in a track. Maybe those pins came off the track. Take a look. Volvo couldn't fix the problem. My solution. TWO MATCHBOOKS STUCK BETWEEN THE SUNROOF SHADE AND THE CEILING PANEL ALWAYS IN THE OPEN POSITION. This may sound stupid considering we are talking about a 37k dollar car.
