If there was a 215/42-43/17 tire, it would be absolutely PERFECT on the 850. But they don't.
If you look up a post not too long ago of mine, I posted all the calculations of diameter and circumfrence of various tire sizes 850 owners use.
The 215/40/17 will definetly not rub, but is significantly smaller in diameter. Enough that you will feel it in your gearing. 215/45/17 will almost definetly rub at full steering lock. If you can live with that, go for it. If you do mods to increase power, you won't mind the increased diameter, and you will probably get noticeable mileage increases.
As for 205/45/17, being OE, it works great with the car, but doesn't increase the width of the contact patch. Because you increase the circumfrence a little, it does increase the contact patch a little.
