Here in Massachusetts, if they don't have a part, they go on the computer and find one on their network.

Even in the 60s, they had a network teletype!

About 15 years ago, when our Suburban got hit, the insurance company tried to find a used rear bumper - the adjuster told me that they had 10 minutes to find a used one and then they had to get me a new one.
