The lower the aspect ratio, the middle number, the less protection you have for potholes damaging the rims. Also, the sidewall is stiffer resulting in a slightly rougher ride. The extra width can be bad with snow, but great for dry weather traction. The wider the tire, the more traction; the more traction, the lower the mpg.
