Fixing a burnt out bulb on a SC-815 radio - what to do? 850 1996

Hello All,

I have a 1996 850 GLT wagon that came originally equipped with a SC-815 Volvo radio, which has a combination cassette and CD player built in. Yesterday I noticed at night for the first time, the LED display panel just below the CD slot is no longer illuminated at night. This is the LED display panel that shows what radio station you are listening to. During the day this display panel still shows the radio station numbers, but at night, you can't read because it is not illuminated.

I have replaced bulbs (that I purchased from Radio Shack) that illuminate the dials and buttons on the radio in the past, but I have a fear that there is no dedicated bulb used to illuminate this LED display panel. Instead this display panel is circuit board that "lights up" when you turn the headlights on.

I'll be working on this radio this weekend. Does anybody know if this LED display panel can be fixed by just replacing a bulb? Thanks to all who respond.

Hugh
