My earlier message: I'm getting ready to replace the module, but am stumped on Step 1 (well, after "open hood"): removing the electrical connections. Is there something to release, or do I just grunt it off? This is the data connector (all the pins); I haven't tried what looks like a power connector (two terminals, larger), figuring that would be easier when the data connector was off.
Later edit: Well, if I would bother to look...last time I replaced this module, I found an online show-n-tell that has a picture making the removal obvious. I printed out the page and stuffed it in the repair manual, just waiting for me to find it. I couldn't find a Frequently Asked Questions here to tell me if posting URLs to other fora are OK or not, so I'll understand if this is removed, but what I found is on Victor Rocha's page, at http://www.rochatek.com/absremoval.html. Utterly simple, once it's explained.
Oh, and the connector for the two larger pins has obvious tabs to push on that release little clips.
I just wish I owned a 1/4" drive torque wrench, so I could have torqued it to factory specs.
