P0422 code S70

That is "cat converter above threshold" and I would ignore it for now. Clear it and see if it comes back. The message appears when the ECU notes a rich burn by the rear O2 sensor and cannot correct the richness enough to satisfy the rear O2 sensor.

Usually a good highway trip cleans things out, but not in your case. If you use the side of your fist and pound on the side of the cat converter, does it sound like gravel inside, if so it is dead, but yours appears to be OK in that regard.


Do you have an exhaust leak? Are you burning a lot of oil? Is there a vacuum leak to cause a rich condition?
