In my experience, AllData subscriptions are a waste of money -- certainly not cost effective. For procedures, they're really no better than a Chilton, etc.; and their diagrams are usually surpassed, for free(!), by various online vendors that offer even better "exploded" parts diagrams.
Admittedly, perhaps I've been spoiled by having owned Volvo's green manuals for my old 164s and 240s (and unfortunately not published for newer models) and Bentley's (for the 240 series).
It's very sad but true that car manufacturers don't want their customers to work on their cars, not only to improve the profits of their own service departments but also to protect their warranty and emission systems, and their lawsuit liabilities I suppose. They would probably love to seal the engine compartment altogether, with only the dealer having a key to unlock the hood.
