Just like you, I hadn't driven my 93 850 for awhile and it developed lifter noise. Does the noise go away when the engine is warm? If so, it is gunked up lifters. Probably due to the car sitting. I cured the problem by doing an oil change with Marvel Mystery oil. It gradually went away...
