New Buyer 850

I plan on buying a used Volvo in the next few months. I know very little about Volvo's, but am researching as much as possible. I thought that this fourm would be the best to ask these questions. I am looking at either the V70 or late model 850 wagon.

Are there years better than others?

What is the model designation that will get me most of the options?

Should I stay away from the turbo engine because of long term reliability?

Were there many big design improvements in the V70 over the 850 wagon?

Is there a wagon model in the 960/C(V)80 series. (I can't seem to find any for sale.) How much bigger is the 960 than the 850?

Well that's enough questions. I don't want to overload you. Thanks in advance.
