The air bag "trigger" is under the center console just behind the hand brake handle. There are no external wires or sensors to worry about. The entire system is totally self contained within the passenger compartment. The rattle in your door is the lower rear window guide chanel. It is broken off where it attaches to the door just below the red door edge lamp. Pull the door panel and you will find it laying in the bottom of the door.
