I would get rid of the K&N and go back to 'paper' filter. If you use too much oil with the K&N, that will easily contaminate the MAF sensor, and not enough oil means that the filter is passing through too much dirt.

A regular filter is $9-12 and will last a few years so long as you don't follow trucks down dirt roads.
