Driver-side wide-angle outside mirror V70-XC70 99

Yesterday I installed a driver-side wide-angle outside mirror on my V70T5M. The first 2/3 of the mirror is flat and the last 1/3 is convex. This design eliminates the blind spot and enables drivers to change lanes more safely, since you do not have to turn your head to look over your shoulder when changing lanes. I have had one on my other Swedish car for about 2 years now and it works great. It does take a little getting used to the curved section, but once you do, there is no going back to a plain flat mirror.

This type of mirror is installed as standard equipment on all European Volvos, but current U.S. safety standards only allow auto manufacturers to have flat mirrors on the driver's side. However, it is legal for U.S. individuals to install them on their cars.

To install it, all you have to do is to move the exsiting mirror to the maximum angle away from the car, then place your fingers behind the part of the mirror nearest the car, and then pull the glass straight out. It took me less than 5 mintues for the whole task.

PS. I ordered it from Stillman Volvo and the total bill was less than $60.
