I experienced the same problem. The message should read "Gas cap not properly secured" (ie. the gas station attendent has not tightened the cap enough to 'seal' the system).

The dealership's driveway solution: stop the car, tighten the cap, and re-start, letting it idle for more than 17 minutes.
