Front Wiper Arm Removal XC90 2006

Thanks Klaus.

I have tried and tried for two days. I have wiggled and wiggled it, applied P Blaster and WD40, tried with a pull tool (though it was a cheap pull tool that got wrecked in the process), tried to lever from below, but no luck with anything. I can't get access to pull it when the hood is down and when the hood is up I can't lift up the blade (who designs a car like this).

The driver's side came off inadvertently today when I accidentally turned on the wipers with the hood up and the arm became stuck under the hood stripping the interior of the wiper arm hole and ruining it. Hopefully the assembly has not been ruined as well. It appears that it only loose off after the interior of of the hole was stripped. But the passenger side refuses to budge and I don't want to ruin that side as well or end up cracking the windshield.

I have to remove them to get access to the CEM.

Very frustrating considering that this was supposed to be the simple first steps to get at the CEM.

Any further suggestions are more than welcome.
