Pretty Disappointing V70-XC70 98

My $.02.

For a $40,000 vehicle, the radio is nothing short of disappointing. I have a '98 V70 T5 (manual transmission!!) and quite frankly it stinks! The bass reproduction is useless and sonic imaging ACCORDING TO (ME) is lifeless.

I have a brand new Lexs ES300 as well and the sound system absolutely rocks for a manufacturer installed component.

I've made changes to my audio system because I really couldn't stand to drive that wonderful car with the "not-so-wonderful" sound system.

For your information, here's what I put in:

Alpine CVA-1000 Head Unit with 5.6" Active Matrix Color Display

Alpine ERAG320 EQ-DSP-BBE

Alpine CHA1204 12disc changer

Boston Acoustics Pro 6 1/2" Components (Front and Rear)

Alpine MRVF352 V12 Power Amp

JL Audio (2) 10" subs suspended in rear cargo area

Sound quality now? It doesn't COMPARE! Just rocks! Cost of system including custom labor? approx. $4,000.

You may call this extreme, but I REALLY had to have a quality sound system.
