Sorry, I misread your post. Like my car, the plastic is dried out and peeling. One side of my 855 is now 'clean', I cut off the plastic and carefully removed the glue with 400 grit sand paper, buffed it with a bit of rubbing compound, and now it is an aluminum strip with a dull finish. Not bad.

But, I am waiting for a 1998-2000 V70 with roof rails to arrive at the P&P. Then I will transfer it to my 855, along with the piece of plastic windshield trim that keeps the water from blowing off the side of the windshield.
