Look for:
Service records.
Worn out suspension components (How does it drive - when you accelerate at highway speed, does the car yaw to left or right?)
Do the brakes stop smoothly and straight - no pulling.
How does the tranny shift?
How dirty is the transmission fluid?
When were the timing belt/tensioner/water pump replaced (105,000 max per belt)
Make sure the PCV system is maintaining a slight vacuum on the crankcase (rubber glove or oil cap jiggle test).
Does EVERYTHING on the instrument cluster work?
Have someone rev the engine a bit while holding the brake in gear - do the motor mounts flex much?
Any shaking in the front end when accelerating hard? (CV joint issues)
Are there at least two working key fobs ???!!! (They're expensive)
