I am 99% certain the PCV box is a problem V50

Do mean the service 'advisor' at a desk/podium where you drive up? Wrong person, talk to the service supervisor and he can have a real mechanic take a look. The P2187 is better diagnosed with a Volvo scan tool.

I agree, you have a blocked PCV. The question then is where is the blockage? The oil separator box? Unlikely. The PTC, good possibility. A small diameter hose routed to the PTC, possible. A broken hose between the oil separator box and the cam cover, possible.
